Tortoise Rock Casino A new entertainment destination in Twentynine Palms, California is beautifully situated between the majestic Joshua Tree National Park and one of the country’s largest military training facilities— the United States Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. The casino offers 30,000 square feet of gaming space, with the industry's best Slot Machines, plenty of Table Games, live poker, live entertainment, along with Oasis Grille and Shelly’s Lounge.
Tortoise Rock Casino is a business venture of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.
Sky's The Limit Observatory & Nature Center is a 15-acre site located just before the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms.Events occur every Saturday night (except during a full moon), and admission is free. Docents set up a variety of telescopes, or guests may bring their own binoculars and scopes. Everyone is encouraged to bring a red flashlight to preserve night vision.
Arriving around sunset, guests will have time to visit the campus before the cosmic tour begins at dark.
Dress for unpredictable desert weather and bring snacks, water bottles, and chairs. Children under 16 must be accompanied by adults. No pets and no smoking allowed on the STL campus, and visitors must carry out all trash.
Guests are cautioned that the seasonal sky is very unpredictable and a viewing event may have to be delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled due to cloudiness, rain, or excessive wind. The Town of Yucca Valley Annual Holiday Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00a.m. to 3:00a.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center. The Town will again partner with the Hi-Desert Nature Museum to bring this year's Holiday Craft Faire to life! There will be pictures with Santa in the Museum along with a kids craft, hot cocoa and cookies.
Registration opens on Tuesday, September 5, at 8:00a.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center. Space is limited.
